Today, let’s take an early look at the highlights of Tableau 2025.2 and see how they will enhance the business analytics workflow.

01 Instant Visualization with “Show Me”

As demonstrated at TC25, Tableau’s classic “Show Me” feature is getting its biggest upgrade ever!

In previous versions, users had to pre-select fields to match visualizations. In the new version, “Show Me” allows direct previews of all preset visualization types.

Not only that, users can click the “Choose for Me” button to automatically match data to the selected visualization type, or double-click to switch between different charts to explore the best way to present their data.

Even better, the Viz Extensions entry is now embedded in “Show Me.” No more digging through the “Marks” card dropdown menu—just quickly open the “Add Extension” window and freely choose advanced visualizations!

With this enhancement, even beginners can start analyzing with a single click. For experienced users, data exploration in Tableau becomes more efficient, and visualization design gains more freedom.

02 Dynamic Color Ranges

No more worries about outliers! Tableau 2025.2 introduces “Dynamic Color Ranges,” ensuring key insights stand out even with outlier data.

04 Databricks Connector Updates

05 Tableau for GWS App Plugin

The newly upgraded Tableau for Google Workspace app is here! For enterprise users leveraging both Tableau Cloud and Google Workspace, this free integration plugin enables seamless analytics collaboration without switching apps.

Currently, you can embed Tableau worksheets, dashboards, and Pulse metrics directly into Google Docs and Google Slides, with real-time data refreshes. Support for Google Sheets is coming later this year.

08 Cloud Session Recovery Optimizations

Offline access to Tableau Cloud? Yes! The new Tableau Cloud supports extended session recovery and offline visualization interaction, maintaining some functionality even for large visualizations.

Especially in critical scenarios like dashboard presentations, operations won’t be interrupted, letting you focus on business without connectivity anxiety.

As shown below, after disconnecting, the floating toolbar replaces the “Offline” prompt with new buttons, allowing users to continue offline interactions while displaying real-time reconnection status until the network is restored.

09 Tableau Next: Concierge

In the Agentic era, every company is actively developing and deploying AI Agents—Salesforce and Tableau are no exception.
